You can also consider your wedding as a destination
wedding. Destination weddings are usually very small, and often at an exotic
location. Depending on where it is, the time and expense to get there often
make them more challenging, and restrictive. However, if you're from the Denver
metro area, or from the mid west, for example, your destination wedding can be
in the Colorado mountains. For outdoor and destination weddings, mountain
weddings are second only to beach weddings. Colorado being centrally located in
the Wedding weekends do require places to gather, and things to do, other than during the wedding itself. Since Stone Mountain Lodge and Cabins is known for family reunions, it becomes a natural place to base wedding weekends too. Group lodging discounts are available, and you can even consider renting the entire property for the weekend, making it your private estate! (Click for more about group lodging and family reunions at Stone Mountain Lodge and Cabins.) So, what are some ideas for your wedding weekend? Well, there are so many possibilities, and much of it depends on what you like to do, and how many people are involved. On the simple side, you can treat it as just having more time with those you may not see often. Many times a wedding is sandwiched during part of a day, and is so busy, that the bride and groom don't get a chance to spend time with many of their guests. Before you know it, it's all over, and everyone is gone! Having a wedding site for the entire day certainly helps, but extending it to a weekend allows even more relaxation too. More specifically, a rehearsal the day before becomes an obvious idea, along with a dinner, or perhaps some other activity. If your wedding is on Saturday, brunch in the town of Lyons on Sunday, is certainly something to consider. The rest of the time can be left open to just relax, hang out by the pool, take walks, and enjoy the company of those that you don't often see. Another idea is to have your wedding on Friday, which leaves Saturday and Saturday night open. It makes the rest of the weekend more relaxed, since there is generally more anxiety before the wedding. During the day you can plan some outdoor activities, like hiking or fishing, and at night, perhaps listen to a jazz band in Lyons. Certainly, all of your group doesn't have to go or do everything. Spending time with different people at different times with different activities works out great. Your guests could then leave on Sunday, while you head off for your honeymoon. weddings | packages | ideas | FAQ | wedding site | policies | vendors full weddings | simple weddings | wedding weekends | pictures | music | tent layouts |
