A lush green oasis is maintained in our unique mountain environment. The wedding area includes the Ceremony Site, the Garden Area, the Reception Tent, the Bridal Tent, the Stone Stairs, Pond, and Restrooms. The diagram below shows the layout for outdoor weddings at Stone Mountain Lodge and Cabins. (See corresponding descriptions and pictures of the various areas below.)
Note the restrooms are convenient from all area. Also there is easy vehicle access to all areas, including both sides of the reception tent for your caterer, DJ, or any other venders you use. Drop off of older guests, or for those who have difficulty walking can be done near the ceremony site. The Ceremony Site includes a redwood arbor covered with vines. The arbor is backed by bushes and the naturally treed hillside. The area in front of the arbor is slightly raised in a circular fashion for a natural stage. There is plenty of room to seat all your guests in semicircular rows.
The Stone Stairs leading down to the pond provides a special way to enter or leave the Ceremony Site. Lush Irish moss grows among the steps. And of course, the Pond is always in view. It has a fountain that is lit up at night. And the ducks love to be fed with bread. Just imagine your photos!
The Garden Area is entered via a redwood bridge crossing a stream lined with stones, shrubs and grasses. A short white picket fence separates the garden area with ornamental bushes and flowers. The garden area can be used in a variety of ways and is especially useful for the time between the ceremony and the reception.
The Reception Tent is located with the pond to the west. The fountain can be seen from inside the reception tent, through a thick growth of naturally growing willows. The east side has a woodsy feel with trees and the natural hillside. There are some picnic tables here too.
The Bridal Test is our latest addition and available for the first time this season! It is located in a separate place off to the side in the pond area, away from where guests arrive. (Note its location on the Wedding Site Diagram at the top of this page.) It is designed specifically for the bride to get ready, and there is enough room for her to invite those close to her to help. The Bridal Tent has a luxurious interior, furnished with a sofa and chair, a make-up table with mirror, clothes stands, full length mirror and lighting. Its floor is raised and fully carpeted. Two sides of the tent have windows, but with full block-out drapes for complete privacy when you want it. It also has heat and air-conditioning. It's just a fun, private place for the bride to call her own!
The Wedding Site is located close by to some of the cabins too. Staying in a cabin make your whole affair even move fun!
